I decided to spice things up for PAULY S PUB BASEBALL POOL. I decided to add a new wrinkle to the Pool and conuct a single game elimination tournment, then later on a playoff format. the TUG McGRAW tournamnet will be starting on saturday and ending on tuesday. This extra stuff will continuing thru the end of the regualr baseball season.
what am i talking about??
I seeded all 14 teams based on the standings as of monday morning (the last UPDATE). there will be two teams with byes (Paulys Pub & Rib Boy's Latrells). And everyone will pair off and play each other. the team with the higher point total in the BASEBALL CHALLANGE will win the game and move onto the next round. EXAMPLE. The Bronx is supposed to play Dick's Weed. On that day Dick's Weed gets 56 BBC points and Bronx gets 45. DW wins 56-45 and advances to play Pauly's Pranksters. in case of a tie, the lower seed wins. SIMPLE! Tourney starts on saturday and continues thru to tuesday sept 10.
what does the winner get?
an automatic BID to the playoffs! (COMING SOON!) this tourney is like the NCAA conference tournamnets. the winner automatically gets to go to the dance. This gives any team an opportunity to make it to the playoffs. i will explain the playooff format after this tourney ends.
how do i play? what do i have to do? how do i make picks?
you have to do NOTHING. keep making you regular picks. i'll keep track and take your daily point totals. This is completely useless and random and u really have no influence on whether or not u win. its all by the chance of the draw.

The Skinny: Rib Boy's continues it's run in first place and held off the rest of the teams AND the lame strike to keep the top spot. Holla Atmeyoes got off to a hot start earlier in the week, and cooled off during the weekend, but still jumped to 6th place. Big Sal's Goodfellas (team of the week) and LI Adermesiters both finished 2 places higher than last week and are the hot teams.
OVERALL: Furcal's hold a slim lead over Rib Boy's and Pauly's Pranksters. Dick's Weed is now in the TOP 5.
STATS: Bernie Williams now leads the AL in hitting. Sorriano has a shot at 40-40 club! Smoltz has a ridiculous amount of saves (49) and matt damon finally made an error teh other night. reminds me of my favorite ben affleck quote he said to matt damon in the film, jay & silent bob strike back: "so what gay pscyho serial killing, horse riding golfer are you playing this week?"
